Job Summary
Conduct visual and close-up inspections of high-rise building facades using binoculars and suspended scaffolding, including specialized probes of cavity wall construction. Assist in managing survey field crew activities, gathering photographic documentation, marking defects on drawings, and sketching defected elements. Prepare TR6 and other reports for filing with the NYC Department of Buildings and clients, ensuring compliance with NYC building codes and FISP rules. Support façade safety compliance investigations and coordination with engineers, architects, and contractors. This role is part of a team managing restoration projects for federal and private clients within NYC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering
- Three (3) years of relevant experience in facade design, construction, or inspection
- Experience working under the direct supervision of a DOB qualified QEWI
- Experience performing critical visual and close-up inspections (drops) and specialized probes of cavity wall construction of high-rise buildings using suspended scaffolding
- Experience assisting in gathering photo documentation, marking the defects on the field drawing and drawing sketches of defected elements
- Familiarity with NYC building codes and FISP rules
