Job Summary
Verify vehicle information based on work orders by inspecting all customer vehicles for damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems. Prepare and complete necessary documentation, including electronic condition reports and digital photos, while determining grades using Manheim's scale. Set up systems for day-end procedures and conduct courtesy walk-around inspections. Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, and software capabilities to ensure accurate processing of cosigned vehicles. Perform other duties as assigned by management, including test driving when applicable.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 - 3 years of experience in the automobile field (i.e., inspections, body/mechanic shop, etc.)
- Successful ICP Level I written/field exam
- Understanding of Baseline Inspections (Electronic Condition Report) & vehicle grading
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical aptitude
- Body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge
- Familiarity with unibody and full-frame vehicles
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat or kneel
- Ability to lift and hold at least 10 lbs at waist level for an extended period of time
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship
- Must clear a pre-employment drug test
- Must be available for day shifts
- Must work at a specified Cox location (no remote option)
- Must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate

- Identifying value added options
- Identifying basic mechanical conditions
- Identifying common wear and tear
- Evaluating fluid levels
- Documenting vehicle condition in writing by completing appropriate Vehicle Condition Report
- Completing inspections process and data entry in appropriate time frames
- Collecting digital photos per specific criteria guidelines
- Test driving (when applicable)
- Accurately determining grade using Manheim's Grading Scale (when applicable)
- Knowledge of system capabilities, knowledge of needed/job-relevant software packages, and web-based applications
- Working knowledge on improvements and changes concerning body mechanical, frame labor, inspection techniques, etc.
- Safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures
- Active participation in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence
