Job Summary
Inspector role focusing on mechanical integrity inspections across vessels, piping, and tanks. Responsibilities include performing internal, external, and on-stream inspections per codes (API, ASME, NBIC), preparing and reviewing inspection reports and data sheets, recommending inspection intervals and corrosion monitoring points, identifying mechanical/structural deficiencies, and providing repair or fitness-for-service recommendations. Requires coordination with client representatives, engineers, and maintenance personnel, use of digital tools to track asset health, and collaboration with NDT technicians as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Field-based with extensive travel; requires API certifications (510/570/653) or equivalent credentials, and safety/compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active API certifications (API 510, 570, or 653)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check
- TWIC and/or other site access credentials
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel and work in field environments
- Experience with internal, external, and on-stream inspections per API, ASME, NBIC
- Ability to prepare/review inspection reports, data sheets, and isometric drawings
- Familiarity with RBI, IDMS platforms, and digital inspection tools
- Prior experience with turnaround inspections, capital projects, or long-term mechanical integrity programs
- Current safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work in variable plant environments
