Job Summary
Construction Inspector for a GSA project in Martinsburg, WV. Responsibilities include value engineering reviews, participating in weekly progress meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, reviewing submittals, preparing government cost estimates, developing and updating scopes of work and project budgets, reviewing cost proposals and change orders, conducting substantial completion inspections, providing technical review support, responding to RFIs, and maintaining construction document logs. Requires 10+ years of construction inspection experience with asphalt and concrete paving; ability to read drawings; professional verbal and written communication; ability to develop weekly/progress reports; familiarity with creating detailed scopes of work for design/construction; experience with Kahua software and Microsoft Project preferred; physical ability to work on-site (climbing ladders, navigating sites) and to work independently with attention to detail; experience with federal projects preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in construction inspection with an emphasis on asphalt and concrete paving
- Ability to read drawings
- Communicate professionally and efficiently verbally and in writing
- Develop weekly reports and progress reports
- Understand and develop detailed Scopes of Work for design and construction projects
- Experience with Kahua software preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred
- Physical ability to climb ladders and navigate construction sites unaided
- Independent and autonomous work style with limited management input
- Strong attention to detail
- Understand and develop construction schedules
