Job Summary
Inspect assembled parts for imperfections and nonconformities, review parts against blueprints and process sheets to verify they meet customer standards. Test electrical components and measure them with an ohm meter, ruler, and micrometer. Identify non-conforming parts for repair or scrap. Requires high school diploma or GED and 3-5 years of manufacturing inspection experience. Proficient with measuring devices and various inspection tools; able to use Oracle and Microsoft applications; may need to obtain Braze, Weld, and Solder inspection certifications. Responsible for documenting inspection results, performing First Article inspections, and supporting root-cause analysis; collaborates with team and adheres to safety and quality procedures; may perform complex tests (e.g., surge, dielectric, hipot, helium leak check) as required. Eligible for GE Aerospace benefits and a comprehensive compensation package. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information and is contingent upon meeting U.S. Person status requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education or GED equivalency
- 3 years’ inspection experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Ability and willingness to use hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. optical comparators, ohm meters, leak check, CMM’s, dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Intermediate understanding of basic computer applications (Oracle and Microsoft applications)
- Ability and willingness to obtain knowledge in Electrical Inspection or Mechanical Inspection
- Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation including GD&T
- Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam upon offer
- Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld and Solder inspection certification as required
- Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality; Identify and document non-conforming parts; Use Oracle to maintain inspection records; Inspect raw materials and purchased parts; Use SPC and SQC techniques; Assist in root cause analysis; Communicate with team; Perform manual setup, test, and troubleshooting; Cross-train other employees; Complete labor tracking documentation; Report problems; Participate in team initiatives; Follow PPE and safety procedures; Perform First Article inspections; Perform complex testing as required
- Desired Qualifications: 3-5 years Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment; Knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100); Preferred assembly, solder, or electronics manufacturing experience; Experience in self-directed team environment; 5S & lean manufacturing knowledge
