Job Summary
Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on mechanical, electrical, or structural spacecraft components using calipers, micrometers, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machines. Accept, reject, or rework defective units based on predetermined specifications, drawings, and customer requirements while making decisions on test acceptance. Perform close tolerance dimensional checks and general surveillance of work in progress to ensure conformance with quality standards. Work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off in a 100% onsite role at Northrop Grumman's Space Sector in Goleta, CA.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience
- No clearance required to start
- US Citizenship
- Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools
- Knowledge of GD&T with the ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteria
- Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads
- Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to work a 9/80 schedule
- Must be able to work onsite in Goleta, CA
