Job Summary

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and completed electronic units, electromechanical assemblies, and structural components using micrometers, dial indicators, and gage pins. Document compliance against drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications while maintaining acceptance records and generating First Article Inspection Reports. Verify tooling calibration, coordinate source inspections, and lead root-cause investigations for non-conformance incidents. Perform line clearances between production lots and support continuous-improvement activities at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. Work the 2nd shift (2pm–11:30pm) with a DoD Secret Clearance required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience (Level 2)
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience (Level 3)
  • Experience using technical drawings
  • Following manufacturing work instructions and inspection procedures
  • Experience with soldering and solder workmanship acceptance standards
  • Experience with quality systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during inspection
  • Ability to lift 35 lb
  • Basic computer knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Experience coordinating non-conformance incidents and handling procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • TipQA experience
  • Proficiency with AS9102
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite
  • Interim/Full Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with Costpoint MRP system
  • Certifications: J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620
  • Prior inspection experience in aviation, electronics, or ordnance
  • Associate degree in a physical-science or manufacturing-related field
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
  • Experience supporting assembly and test personnel in a manufacturing/production environment
  • 25% of the Time travel
  • 2nd shift availability (2pm-11:30PM)
  • Flexibility to work overtime or within other departments as required
