Job Summary
Execute makeup looks styled to an approved design for performers across rehearsals, show runs, and quick changes. Duplicate work within the team to ensure conformity in look appearance and assist fellow artists with touch-ups and product quality. Read entertainment department look books to ascertain materials and requirements, then document specific looks via photos or makeup sheets for future reference. Perform other assigned projects, including the use of prosthetics, SFX techniques, or airbrushing as needed. Maintain a safe working environment by properly cleaning, repacking, and storing all makeup and related items at the end of each show.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in cosmetology
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in all aspects of makeup
- Hands on knowledge in appropriate use of makeup & tools
- Detailed knowledge of the latest products, services and industry techniques
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of live entertainment and Insomniac brands/shows
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
- Must be willing to frequently travel to work events during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
- Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by Insomniac for a visa
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in entertainment, theater, theme park, & or live events is a plus
