Job Summary
In this role, you will join Intact’s National Investigative Services team to investigate property claim referrals of moderate to high complexity, gather and validate facts, identify red flags, and provide evidence-based recommendations to settle or deny claims. You will conduct investigations by phone and online/open-source research, collect and secure evidence, collaborate with internal teams across Canada, contact external resources including police and third parties, document findings in the case management system, and support training on red-flag identification and fraud awareness. The role emphasizes analyzing claim information, applying loss-control tools, and delivering clear recommendations while maintaining professional communication with customers and brokers. The position is hybrid with multiple Canadian locations and a strong focus on fraud identification and investigation within a team-based investigative services unit.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of property claims adjusting experience (minimum)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Effective presentation skills
- Curiosity, persistence, and strong research capability
- Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify risk indicators and red flags in property claims
- Working knowledge of insurance trends, developments, and current regulations
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple stakeholders, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong proficiency with standard desktop and online tools
- Coaching and training experience is an asset
