Job Summary
Answer and document all incoming telephone calls to assist customers with rental needs, perform routine rental transactions including creating reservations and quotes, and efficiently schedule and dispatch drivers to fulfill delivery and pickup requests. Assist walk-in customers with selecting appropriate equipment, communicate equipment needs via two-way radio with the yard, and coordinate all deliveries, exchanges, and service calls while prioritizing "Must Pick-ups." Review credit card files daily for accurate billing, enter lost rentals and service calls into the logbook, and escalate equipment or personnel issues to management. Work Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm with overtime eligibility, cross-train as a dispatcher, and may work extended hours or on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years experience is required working in customer service role, managing logistics, or coordinating activities
- Must possess sales ability identifying customer needs through suggestive selling or upselling, and strong relationship-building skills
- Possess knowledge of the geographical layout of the local area, ability to read maps, and navigate GPS
- Strong communication skills to include active listening and assimilating information; both verbal and written
- Aptitude for problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills and effective time management
- Technologically capable: Microsoft Suite knowledge and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), AS 400 highly preferred!
- Ability to focus on details and complete tasks with accuracy
- Adaptability to adjust priorities and plans based on orders received
- Proficiency in basic computer and typing skills
- Be capable of collaborating with other team members
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
