Job Summary
Review incoming manifests and shipping documents against cargo received, then prepare manifests for departing transfers and sign off on outgoing equipment. Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking merchandise, and processing supply orders while pulling materials and packing boxes. Sort items on racks, shelves, or bins per organizational standards, perform 100% material receiving accuracy checks, and identify purchase order issues such as overages, shortages, or damages to assist the buyer with corrective actions. Open and pack bales, crates, and totes, maintain inventory controls via computer, and conduct physical inventory counts. Keep shelves, pallet areas, and workstations clean and organized while wearing proper safety equipment. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime pay after 40 hours, plus weekend on-call availability for special circumstances.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hand and power tools
- Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Exerting up to 30 pounds of force frequently
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles
- Body agility
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
- Lifting and substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
- Ability to make discriminations sound
- Ability to work in extreme heat which may include temperatures above 100° for periods of more than one hour
- Ability to type or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand
