Job Summary
Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, order placement, pricing, and delivery scheduling. Initiate telephone calls to generate sales and obtain orders from customers and sales representatives. Enter work orders, credit returns, and service requests while maintaining stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom. Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products, manage project schedules by coordinating with outside sales and jobsites, and resolve billing problems or outstanding back orders. Handle special orders and advanced pricing, develop professional relationships with customers, and address jobsite issues.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience in building material industry
- basic knowledge of product and application
- 1-3 years of inside sales experience
- Ability to operate computer, calculator and cash register
- Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry
- Good interpersonal and customer relations skills
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- familiarity with inventory and inventory control
- Must be able to walk throughout yards, plants and offices
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of inside sales experience preferred
