Inside Sales Representative

Job Summary
Answer and document all incoming telephone calls to assist customers with rental needs, including creating reservations, scheduling pickups, and processing returned driver orders. Assist walk-in customers and vendors by selecting appropriate equipment and communicating via two-way radio with the yard regarding loading and unloading. Efficiently schedule and dispatch drivers to fulfill delivery, exchange, and service call requests while prioritizing "Must Pick-ups" and managing driver schedules. Review credit card files daily to ensure accurate billing and enter lost rentals or service calls into the counter logbook. Escalate truck or equipment problems and personnel issues to management for timely resolution. This role involves 80% office work and 20% yard time, with cross-training as a Dispatcher.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years experience is required working in customer service role, managing logistics, or coordinating activities
- Must possess sales ability identifying customer needs through suggestive selling or upselling, and strong relationship-building skills
- Be comfortable working with a team and independently, any task could go either way
- Possess knowledge of the geographical layout of the local area, ability to read maps, and navigate GPS
- Strong communication skills to include active listening and assimilating information; both verbal and written
- Aptitude for problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills and effective time management
- Technologically capable: Microsoft Suite knowledge and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), AS 400 highly preferred!
- Ability to focus on details and complete tasks with accuracy
- Adaptability to adjust priorities and plans based on orders received
- Proficiency in basic computer and typing skills
- Be capable of collaborating with other team members: You've got sales goals, and you can't meet all of them alone
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Knowledge of applicable DOT rules, regulations and laws
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years Inside sales (direct customer contact) experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, bilingual is a plus
- Technologically capable: Microsoft Suite knowledge and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), AS 400 highly preferred!
- Knowledge of applicable DOT rules, regulations and laws is a plus
