Job Summary
Process telephone orders by quoting prices, delivery specs, and payment terms while offering substitute products where appropriate. Manage a defined customer base by establishing relationships, prospecting for new accounts, and closing orders through root-cause analysis to resolve issues. Utilize digital tools to sell products to new and existing customers, process quotations, and gather market intelligence on competitors and trends. Assist outside sales personnel with priority transactions and participate in product training to maintain technical knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience
- High School or GED
- Ability to handle basic/intermediate issues and problems
- Basic/intermediate product and application knowledge
- Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs
- Customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence
- Highly self-motivated
- Familiar with Microsoft Office as well as relevant ERP systems and Customer Relation Management Tools (CRM)
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position - Constantly – at least 51%
- Must be able to move about inside/outside office or work location - Frequently – 21% to 50%
- Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Must be able to ascend/descend on a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Must be able to use senses to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions - Occasionally – up to 20%
- Up to 10 pounds - Frequently – 21% to 50%
- Up to 25 pounds - Frequently – 21% to 50%
- Up to 50 pounds - Occasionally – up to 20%
