Job Summary
Develop customer requests for distribution quotations and orders by creating quotes, entering orders, and providing inventory availability and lead time information. Prepare and convert quotes to orders after checking inventory levels and confirming that processes and services meet requirements. Ensure order writing accuracy while managing data entry for customer quotes and orders. Educate customers on the depth of services and breadth of inventory across various divisions. Communicate processing capabilities to outside vendors and track changes to orders. Follow up on all quotes and orders for feedback on pricing, quality, and delivery. Check with the credit department regarding high dollar or rush orders.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Computer experience
- proficient understanding of blueprints
- Communicate effectively and sell steel products and services
- Professional telephone skills and techniques
- Great listening and recording skills
- Ability to work in a team environment within our company
- Courteous professional conduct with customers and co-workers
- Able to adapt to different social settings
- Ability to perform routine office support
- Ability to understand written and oral instruction
- Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations
- Past sales experience
- Past work in steel, construction, manufacturing
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must pass a background check
- Must be eligible to legally work in the US (E-Verify)
