Job Summary
Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, builders, and homeowners via phone, email, and walk-in inquiries to handle quotations, orders, returns, and pricing requests. Process sales orders, purchase orders, and credits accurately while coordinating fulfillment with warehouse, purchasing, and delivery teams. Identify customer needs to recommend building materials and solutions, maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. Plan prospecting and telemarketing activities to generate new business opportunities and support branch sales initiatives. Monitor inventory availability, communicate lead times, and resolve delivery or product discrepancies through cross-functional collaboration. Maintain customer accounts and sales documentation within company systems while adhering to pricing guidelines and credit policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous inside sales, sales support, customer service, or front-line retail sales experience
- Proficiency with ERP systems, CRM software, order entry systems, Microsoft Office, and other business applications
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to effectively communicate and follow up with customers, vendors, team members, and management
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be available for occasional overtime or weekend work based on business needs
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in Business, Construction, or related field
- Experience in building materials, lumber, construction supply, industrial distribution, or related industries
- Knowledge of lumber products, building materials, and construction applications
- Spanish bilingual communication skills
