Inside Sales Representative (Customer Support)

Job Summary
Manage assigned customer accounts as the primary liaison between clients and internal departments, ensuring orders are processed accurately and production schedules are communicated effectively. Respond to inquiries regarding orders, inventory, and shipping while coordinating order changes with Production Scheduling and Operations. Enter and maintain customer orders in the ERP system, review purchase orders for specifications, and schedule truck appointments with transportation providers. Monitor production progress, customer inventory levels, and expedite shipments as required. This role serves as the first point of contact for customers, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates must be able to drive a company vehicle and perform physical tasks including walking between office and warehouse areas.
Required Qualifications

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Two or more years of experience in customer service, inside sales, account management, or a manufacturing environment
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer and performing job duties
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements for typing, phone use, and operating standard office equipment
- Ability to independently move through office and warehouse environments, including walking on concrete floors and around operational areas
- Ability to stand and walk between work areas, meeting spaces, and production environments as required
- Ability to lift and carry office materials up to 25 lbs
- Ability to maintain sufficient visual and auditory acuity to read screens, review documents, observe surroundings, and respond to verbal instructions and safety alerts
- Ability to drive a standard company vehicle when required by the position
- Criminal background check: reviewed in accordance with job duties, the nature and gravity of any convictions, and the time elapsed since the offense or sentence completion
- Pre-hire drug screening: candidates must pass a drug screen to be eligible for hire
- Physical assessment: required for all Production and Distribution positions, conducted by a company-designated physician at no cost to the candidate
- Participation in each step of the pre-employment process is required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of steel processing, inventory management, production scheduling, or shipping logistics is a plus
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Experience in steel processing, metals, or industrial manufacturing
- Experience using ERP or MRP systems
