Job Summary
Provide customer service to retail customers via walk-ins, phone, or email, assisting with inquiries on product selection, pricing, and availability. Actively sell company products and services, including material estimates and quotes for small projects like stairs and decks. Enter orders into the system, schedule deliveries, and coordinate customer workshops. Resolve simple complaints and manage store housekeeping, stocking, and inventory control. Work in both office and outdoor environments, lifting up to 80 pounds and using material handling equipment. Meet daily productivity goals and adhere to all safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- six (6) months sales-related experience
- Knowledge of company products
- Knowledge of competitor's products
- Knowledge of company standards
- Knowledge of company product pricing
- Knowledge of discount and estimating formulas and guidelines
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong detail orientation skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of basic sales techniques
- Ability to influence and persuade
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program
- Knowledge of and ability to use motorized material handling equipment
- Knowledge of and ability to use non-motorized material handling equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds on occasion
- Ability to stand or walk for 80% of the day
- Ability to stoop and kneel throughout the day
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to use saws
- Ability to use forklift
- Ability to use pallet jack
