Job Summary
Convert approved quotes into accurate sales orders by verifying material availability, processing requirements, and customer specifications. Review customer drawings, specifications, and tolerances to ensure precise quoting and order entry while maintaining high accuracy across all records. Develop customer relationships by promoting Specialty Metals' products and processing capabilities, then proactively follow up on quotes and orders to gather feedback and address concerns. Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure customer accounts are in good standing before processing large or expedited orders. Manage order revisions and change requests, ensuring all updates are accurately documented and communicated. Prior sales experience required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior sales experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a team environment and treat our customers with courtesy and tact
- Strong telephone etiquette
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations
- Ability to understand written and oral instruction
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening
- Must be willing to undergo random drug testing after employment
