Job Summary
Inside Mortgage Loan Originators generate first mortgage real estate loans from MIDFLORIDA's field of membership, review pre-qualifications to determine appropriate programs, issue prequalification letters and disclosures, process referrals and online applications, review credit reports, lock in loans with the secondary market if applicable, audit files for complete information and compliance with guidelines, provide good faith estimates and disclosures to borrowers within 3 business days, and uphold professional image and integrity while offering guidance on customer-facing technology and self-service options. They support branches and members in mortgage lending needs and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Possess excellent customer service skills along with strong verbal and written communications skills.
- 3 years of government (FHA/VA/USDA) and conventional loan origination experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the real estate market and thorough understanding of Federal and State mortgage regulations.
- Experience with loan underwriting and secondary market guidelines.
- Proficient in the use of computers, the internet and Microsoft Office.
- The eligibility to meet the requirements of the SAFE Act to be registered as an MLO with NMLS.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred.
