Inpatient Occupational Therapist - Part-time

Job Summary

Conduct inpatient occupational therapy evaluations, re-evaluations, and continuing treatment for neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients. Counsel and train parents to incorporate treatment goals into home environments while actively participating in care management meetings. Maintain comprehensive documentation including evaluation reports, daily treatment notes, plans of care, and insurance authorizations. Manage weekend and holiday on-call coverage rotation for inpatient units. Submit clinical requests timely to ensure no lapse in care and collaborate with financial clearance for third-party reimbursement. Work two 10-hour shifts per week, with Sunday as a scheduled day and some flexibility on the second weekday shift.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Occupational therapy
  • 1+ years clinical experience in the pediatric field of Occupational Therapy
  • Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills to effectively communicate with patient, family and medical staff in a team environment
  • The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
  • NBCOT-National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • License OT-Occupational Therapist (26) - State of Wisconsin
  • Part-time employment status (two 10-hour shifts per week)
  • Availability for Sunday shifts
  • Availability for weekend/holiday on-call coverage rotation (Inpatient units only)

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant education in lieu of Master's Degree or equivalent in Occupational therapy
