Inpatient Family Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care, Full-Time 40hrs

Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and coordinate care for inpatients with complex psychiatric needs and co-occurring substance abuse issues. Complete admission history and physical assessments within 24 hours, medicine consultations within 48 hours, and utilize ICD 10 terminology for diagnoses. Prescribe medications and interventions within scope while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to manage census capacity. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and interpret behavioral health standards including JC, CMS, DMH, and DPH regulations. Work independently in a fast-paced environment requiring crisis management and expert clinical judgment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Must be a graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program
- RN licensed within the state of Massachusetts required
- Massachusetts Registration as Controlled Substances Practitioner
- US DEA License
- Current CPR certification is required
- Schedule: Full Time 40 hours per week, including weekend rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a Psychiatry setting is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare technology
- Self-directed, demonstrate initiative and professionalism, and exercise expert clinical judgment to function independently
- Skills in interpreting and applying standards and regulations applicable to behavioral health inpatient services (e.g. JC, CMS, DMH, DPH)
- Time management, problem-solving, crisis management, and team-building capacity; flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
