Job Summary
Assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care, and integrate nursing theory into clinical practice across Emergency Services and Inpatient Services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate continuum of care, develop patient care plans using evidence-based practice, and implement admission, transfer, and discharge planning. Provide emergency nursing interventions, monitor specialized equipment, and act as a patient advocate while initiating education on diagnosis, medications, and home care. Float between departments including after-hours OTIC responsibilities, notify Charge Nurse of acuity changes, and participate in quality improvement activities. Requires State Licensure as an RN, BLS, and ACLS certification, with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and additional hours.
Required Qualifications
- State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Iowa or eligible for reciprocity
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification or willingness to complete within six months of hire
- PALS certification or willingness to complete within six months of hire
- Flexibility in schedule; willing to work additional hours, alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and low-census adjustments as needed
- Regular attendance in coordination with WCHC attendance policy
- Two to four years of clinical experience in Emergency, Acute Care, Critical Care, or Medical-Surgical nursing
Desired Qualifications
- TNCC certification preferred or willingness to complete within six months of hire
- Two to four years of clinical experience in Emergency, Acute Care, Critical Care, or Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
