Job Summary
Inpatient Coding/Clinical Data Specialist at Waystar focused on driving coding accuracy, data integrity, and product innovation. You will conduct inpatient coding and documentation audits, analyze clinical and coding data to identify trends and opportunities, perform medical record reviews, provide actionable insights to clients, and serve as a coding SME supporting product development and cross-functional teams. Stay current on coding guidelines and industry trends, collaborating with Product, Clinical, Data Science, and Customer Success to improve workflows and healthcare outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- CCS
- CIC
- CDIP
- CCDS preferred
- 3–5+ years of inpatient coding experience
- Strong audit, data analysis, and client-facing experience
- Ability to translate complex coding concepts into clear insights
- Strong understanding of coding regulations, documentation guidelines, and industry trends
- Experience working cross-functionally; healthcare tech experience is a plus
