Job Summary
Organizes and coordinates day-to-day activities of the Pharmacy department and ensures compliance with laws; serves as liaison between department, staff, physicians, patients, family; delivers patient-centered pharmaceutical care including information, education, preparation and distribution; provides input to the patient's plan of care; leads pharmacy staff to fulfill regulatory, operational, and clinical needs (e.g., IV room lead, clinical lead at affiliates); may orient other staff and assist management with projects and initiatives; participates in cross-campus pharmacy operations with a focus on safety, privacy, and quality of care.
Required Qualifications
- EDUCATION PHARMD-Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school
- CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE PHARMR-Current registration or Registered Pharmacist within 120 days
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support if required by the entity/department
- PALS-Pediatric Life Support if required by the entity/department
- TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years recent relevant experience
- SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Comprehensive knowledge of current pharmacological/biopharmaceutical principles, medical terminology, pathologies, disease states, and related information for a medical management plan
- Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including NABP, TJC, Title XXII, DHS, DEA, FDA, USP
- Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Office Suite, EHR, EPIC
- Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within procedures to achieve objectives
- PHI privacy understanding
- Build collaborates relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
