Job Summary
Provide direct patient care including obtaining vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, crisis intervention, and behavior management using de-escalation techniques. Monitor patient safety, maintain clean and organized care areas, and replace supplies on a daily basis. Educate patients and families on behavioral health issues, rights, and coping strategies while fostering a positive therapeutic environment. Document patient behaviors, interactions, and progress in medical records, reporting significant changes to clinical staff promptly. Collaborate with the treatment team to develop culturally responsive curricula and participate in care plan discussions. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, infection control, and safety protocols. Requires Basic Life Support certification, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training, and two years of direct patient care experience. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must be HIPAA compliant
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience in direct patient care or community behavioral health experience preferred
- Experience with crisis intervention and management of acute psychiatric conditions strongly preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification from Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Therapeutic OptionsTM, or equivalent training preferred
- LivingWorks START or QPR Training preferred
- LivingWorks ASIST preferred
- Adult and/or Youth Mental Health First Aid training preferred
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
