Job Summary
Innovation Intern at ProAmpac supports the Lead Innovation Engineer by maintaining lab operations when the engineer travels, conducting hands-on experiments to develop intelligent, sustainable packaging solutions, documenting procedures and results, analyzing data, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and helping prepare prototypes and present updates to internal stakeholders. The role is based in Hanover Park, IL, on-site in a climate-controlled lab/manufacturing environment, and requires pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field with strong problem-solving, communication, and software skills.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities with a natural curiosity for diagnosing why an experiment or material behaves a certain way.
- Ability to manage multiple testing projects simultaneously while following documented policies and safety procedures.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for sharing technical data with different teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
