Job Summary
Data Engineer Specialist on the Innovation and Automation team at Accenture Federal Services. Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing reusable frameworks, automated patterns, and core tooling to enable data engineers to build pipelines faster, more reliably, and consistently. Responsibilities include creating ETL/ELT templates using Python/SQL with Databricks or Snowflake, building automated data quality/testing frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations), developing IaC modules with Terraform for automated provisioning, and enhancing CI/CD for DataOps pipelines. Serves as an escalation point and mentors other engineers on automation best practices, code standards, and framework usage. Requires 5+ years of data engineering, expert Python and SQL, cloud data pipelines (AWS/Azure) on Databricks or Snowflake, Terraform IaC, and CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Advantageous to have DevOps/SRE experience, data orchestration (Airflow), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and experience in secure DoD/IC environments; active TS or TS/SCI clearance is noted in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering
- Expert-level programming skills in Python and advanced SQL
- Proven, in-depth experience building and optimizing data pipelines in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure) on platforms like Databricks or Snowflake
- Strong, hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Demonstrable experience with CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) applied to data workflows
- Deep understanding of modern data architecture, data modeling, and software engineering best practices
