Ink Jet Technician

Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, log all periodic maintenance, and troubleshoot repairs on all ink jet heads. Maintain repair history logs for each machine and test qualifying materials and supplies. Build templates as needed and prepare step-by-step documentation for set-up, use, and troubleshooting of inkjet units and controllers. Provide training for all shifts on ink jet application and print and label application equipment, while training back-up staff for both shifts. Manage fluid inventory and pass orders to the purchaser. Be available by phone for troubleshooting and respond immediately if a call does not resolve the issue. Demonstrate good housekeeping, adhere to safety policies, and perform other job-related duties including assisting on the production line. Work overtime as needed while maintaining reliable attendance.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED/HiSET
- Previous experience in Printing, specifically Finishing operations
- Good working knowledge of and experience with Finishing Department machinery
- Ability to become proficient with the organization's operating system with training
- Proven organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven mechanical ability
- Proven electrical skills
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to perform work productively and safely
- Reliable; good attendance
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to a maximum of 20 lbs. frequently
- Continuous standing
- Frequent walking and stooping
- Occasional sitting, crouching, and reaching/working overhead
- Good visual acuity and manual dexterity
- Ability to wear hearing protection and safety shoes
- Must wear hearing protection and safety shoes
- Required to work overtime as needed
