Job Summary
Injection Molding Engineer (Elgin, IL) to support operation in the injection molding area, manage launch of new tooling, assess equipment for quotes, and drive on-time completion, quality, and cost targets for new molds and projects. Responsibilities include reviewing mold vendor design proposals, interfacing with customers and suppliers on project matters, ensuring Design for Manufacturability, developing and optimizing injection molding processes for tight-tolerance, short-run production, and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances. Requires +5 years of injection molding experience; Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or Engineering (or equivalent experience); strong communication skills and experience with new product launches and continuous improvement; and willingness to travel as part of global team projects.
Required Qualifications
- +5 years of injection molding experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or Engineering OR relevant experience may substitute for the required degree
- Working knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling and validation protocols
- Strong customer/supplier/vendor communication and follow-up skills
