Job Summary
Lead the Automation Department at Amcor’s Evansville manufacturing facility to optimize machine efficiency and safety. Direct day-to-day activities, develop and manage expenses and capital budgets, ensure automation equipment is maintained and safe, evaluate and qualify new equipment/vendors, and implement preventative maintenance programs. Drive capital projects to improve safety, reduce costs, and enhance operating efficiency. Set yearly goals for continuous improvement, mentor technical staff, analyze downtime and productivity, and collaborate cross-functionally to implement solutions using CMMS and JD Edwards. Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and health requirements and oversee recruitment and development of technical employees within the Automation Department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of maintenance supervisory work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and pc/plc based control systems
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to evaluate mechanical and electrical equipment to determine fit for service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
