Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating and directing process engineering functions in the plant to improve production effectiveness, reduce scrap (including during color and material changes), and support continuous improvement initiatives. Leads standard practices for process engineering, provides technical support and training to technicians, ensures compliance with IATF 16949 quality system, participates in new product launches, and drives process improvements to increase machine uptime and reduce molding defects (short shots, splay, color streaks). Emphasizes establishing process control parameters, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-department collaboration to maintain timely and complete project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year College or university.
- Minimum 5 years experience within the plastics industry.
- 3+ years of processing experience in injection molding.
- Experience with IATF 16949 quality system.
- Establish and implement key process control parameters for monitoring and measuring injection molding processes (Including SPC).
