Job Summary
Coordinate timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure clients receive essentials such as airport pickup, housing, food, medical care, and transportation orientation. Conduct intake services to assess needs and develop individualized self-sufficiency plans with SMART goals in partnership with each client. Provide relevant services including direct financial assistance, public benefit applications, and referrals to medical and mental health providers. Assess and monitor client progress to support goal attainment and address challenges while detailing each interaction in accordance with program requirements. Input client information into ETO and assist with tracking and reporting. Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations to build relationships with area service providers. Use a personal, insured vehicle or public transportation to travel and transport clients throughout the service delivery area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field of study
- Relevant professional experience in human services field
- minimum of 2 years' experience
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations
- Ability to learn to navigate or familiarity with database systems such as IRIS and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO)
- Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills
- ability to effectively build internal and external relationships
- Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
- proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Valid driver's license
- access to a personal, insured vehicle
- Must be available for occasional weekend and/or evening work
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field of study preferred
- minimum of 2 years' experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred
- proficiency in language(s) spoken by IRC's clients is desired; including Dari, Farsi, and/or Pashto
- proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problem-solving purposes
