Job Summary
R&D Engineer in Advanced Controls & Simulation responsible for developing and maintaining system-level models of residential heating products and environments, analyzing field and experimental data to validate models, and evaluating new control algorithms using model-based and data-driven approaches. You will contribute to model validation and calibration through testing on real products and SIL/HIL validation, ensure alignment between simulations and real-world behavior, document modeling work, and clearly communicate technical conclusions to non-specialist stakeholders. The role emphasizes quantitative analysis to support product design decisions and performance improvements in residential heating systems, with opportunities to work in an international, collaborative environment and contribute to innovation in energy solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of numerical simulation and system modeling
- Knowledge of thermodynamics applied to energy systems
- Technical knowledge of energy systems (e.g. heat pumps, boilers, residential heating systems)
- Skills in data analysis applied to simulation and product data
- Proficiency in Python programming for analysis and modeling tasks
- Experience with one or more simulation tools (e.g. Dymola or equivalent system‐level simulation tools)
- Basic knowledge of control systems and automation principles
- Basic understanding of systems engineering concepts
- Awareness of regulations and industry standards related to energy system
