Job Summary
Real-Time Linux OS & Cybersecurity Engineer role at Thales focusing on radar surface systems. Responsible for collaborating with development teams, understanding real-time requirements, studying existing architectures, analyzing performance bottlenecks, and proposing OS-level tests to control performance in the face of OS updates. Define and drive the roadmap for Linux real-time kernels, provide technical expertise on OS and application software as needed, and help align quarterly objectives with project milestones. Requires a bac+5 engineering degree and 3-5 years of Linux software development experience; expertise in Linux OS, security considerations, and performance tuning; proficiency in Python, Java, C, Ada, or Golang; ability to work within defense-related contexts and potentially undergo security habilitation.
Required Qualifications
- BAC+5 engineering degree or equivalent (école d'ingénieur)
- 3-5 years of experience in software development on Linux OS (RedHat and derivatives a plus)
- expertise in Linux OS, usage guidelines and security
- experience with performance-affecting parameters (kernel, network, peripherals)
- proficiency in software development languages (Python, Java, C, Ada, Golang)
- experience with industry software (requirements traceability, test cones)
- ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to OS-level testing and roadmap creation
Additional Requirements
- may require access to national defense secret information; security/habilitation procedures in place
