Job Summary
Support design engineers on electrical topics for generator winding design, testing specifications, and customer discussions. Provide technical support to factories, supply chain, and site teams regarding electrical topics and insulation systems throughout the project lifecycle. Lead cost reduction and improvement actions related to generator windings. Deliver design work packages using technical guidelines and reference projects. Participate in design review meetings with other engineers, functions, and consulting engineers. Requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and minimum five years of experience in hydro generator electrical design. Proficiency in French and/or English is required for interaction with colleagues across and outside Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university or college
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, electromagnetism and insulation systems
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in hydro generator electrical design and insulation systems
- Member of Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-locational environment
- Ability to travel
- Proficiency in French and/or English (spoken and written)
- The employee will be required to interact fluidly with colleagues in our other facilities across and/or outside of Canada, and who are generally unable to communicate in French and whose language at work is predominantly English
