Principal Engineer, Radio Access Networks (RAN) responsible for the design, optimization and evolution of radio access networks for satellite systems. Focuses on integrating non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) per 3GPP standards (versions 17 and 18) and ensuring coexistence and interoperability with 5G terrestrial networks. Reports to the Director, Satellite Ground Infrastructure and RAN, aiming for optimal radio performance, seamless satellite/ground integration, and coherent evolution of RAN architectures in hybrid satellite-terrestrial environments. Key duties include RF/RAN architecture for GEO/LEO satellites, RF planning (coverage, capacity, links), sizing VoNB/IoT/data, spectrum management (S and Ku bands), beamforming, network performance monitoring, capacity assessment, congestion management, NTN integration, KPI tracking, field measurements, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with 3GPP 17/18. Requirements include university engineering degree, OIQ membership or eligibility, 7–10 years RF/RAN experience, hybrid satellite-terrestrial exposure, NTN/NTN IoT experience, VoLTE/VoNB/NB-IoT expertise, field tools and capacity modeling know-how, strong knowledge of GEO/LEO and 4G/5G RAN, radio propagation and satellite link budgets, fluency in French and English, and a continuous-learning, innovative, risk-aware, service-oriented mindset.
