Job Summary
Ingénieur(e) des Matériaux et des Procédés sought to lead and perform a diversified range of engineering tasks within the Materials and Processes (M&P) domain for aerospace/military production. Responsibilities include leading material qualifications, supporting cost-reduction initiatives, solving part non-conformity and production issues, managing supplier material changes, developing and approving test plans with internal/external laboratories, writing and approving Materials & Processes specifications and associated Qualified Product Library, reviewing engineering drawings and change documentation, supporting innovation and redesign activities, investigating environmental regulations affecting finishes, handling complex issues with technical seniority, and driving process optimization, continuous improvement, and cost reduction. The role requires technical expertise in metallics, surface treatments, polymers, coatings, protective finishes, upholstery, leather, woodworking, and interior flammability. Requires a bachelor’s degree in materials, mechanical, or chemical engineering; at least 10 years of M&P experience in aerospace/military production; knowledge of industry standards (CMH-17, MIL specs, FAR 25, ASTM, ISO, SAE); proficiency in CATIA V5; strong organizational and bilingual (English/French) communication skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams and report to upper management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Mechanical or Chemical engineering
- minimum of ten (10) years of experience as M&P engineer in aerospace/military production environment
- deep knowledge of aircraft interior materials and processes (surface treatments, coatings, protective finishes, leather, upholstery, woodworking)
- familiarity with CMH-17, MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO, SAE
- flammability requirements per FAR 25
- engineering drawing principles and design reviews
- strong organizational and project planning skills
- ability to solve engineering problems in high-pressure environments
- excellent communication in English and French (written and spoken)
- teamwork and interaction with Senior Management, Professionals and Technicians
- proficiency with CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office Suite
