Job Summary
Design and evolve the architecture of ELT/ETL pipelines on AWS, defining dbt modeling standards and orchestrating data flows to ensure production reliability. Make documented architectural decisions for AWS infrastructure including S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, and Step Functions while collaborating with ADS consultants to validate technical choices during client mandates. Contribute to BEEM product evolution by proposing improvements, evaluating new technologies, and laying technical foundations for future features. Help level up the team on architecture topics and best practices. This permanent full-time hybrid role requires minimum 2 days per week in the office in Montreal and is open to bilingual candidates with significant data engineering experience.
Required Qualifications
- Proven, significant experience in data engineering
- Strong Python and advanced SQL skills
- Solid experience with AWS and its data services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift or equivalent)
- Proficiency with dbt for layered data modeling
- Experience with an orchestration tool (Airflow, Step Functions, Prefect or equivalent)
- Comfortable with Git, code review and rigorous technical standards
- Bilingual FR/EN communication
- Minimum 2 days per week in the office
Desired Qualifications
- Experience at a consulting firm or in a multi-client environment
- Knowledge of Power BI or other BI tools
- Experience with lakehouse or data mesh architectures
- Interest in applied generative AI (RAG, MCP, agents)
- Experience implementing DataOps or data observability practices
- You enjoy sharing knowledge and genuinely care about growing the people around you
