Job Summary
Design electrical functionality of products in accordance with requested standards; collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineers during the design phases; design per cost, manufacturability, and functionality; provide 2D electrical design drawings; analyze customer needs to translate into system specifications; integrate electrical systems and components; prototype assembly; plan and execute tests; validate compliance with standards during manufacturing; lead customer acceptance testing; ensure client specifications are respected while adhering to industry standards (CSA, IEC); provide technical support for electrical work in the workshop; resolve electrical problems in the workshop; prepare technical documents; monitor installation, modification, testing and validation of functionality; participate in start-up tests; conduct research on technical instructions related to electrical repair work and customer specifications; identify and plan activities related to product development projects; build and maintain the design file including calculations, tests, verifications, validations, costs and approvals; participate in design reviews; verify and approve new concepts; support manufacturing engineering in solving technical problems; analyze technical aspects of special customer requests during orders and quotes
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Electrical Designer
- Member of the OIQ - Asset
- Demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent ability to work in a team in a changing environment
- Leadership, decision-making (judgment), teamwork
- Be able to work with tight deadlines on occasion
- Experience in design and integration with harnesses and power cables - Asset
- Knowledge of product development methods such as functional analysis, risk management, creation and monitoring of schedules - Asset
