Job Summary
Infusion Nurse II coordinates and delivers intermediate direct patient care in the home or an alternate infusion suite under a physician’s plan of care. Responsibilities include initiating and modifying treatment plans, administering medications, educating patients and families, documenting care in real-time for billing and continuity, coordinating discharge planning, and supervising/mentoring Infusion Nurse I staff as needed. The role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to HIPAA and agency policies, effective communication with the clinical team, and ensuring timely, high-quality infusion services for patients with acute or chronic conditions. Key skills include patient assessment, plan-of-care modification, education, documentation, teamwork, and knowledge of infusion procedures, devices (e.g., PICC/Midlines), and regulatory standards. Licensure as an RN is required, CPR certification is required, and BSN is preferred for advancement; travel may be required based on patient needs.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 year nursing experience
- Current CPR certification
- Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications
- Demonstrated competency in patient care standards for infusion nursing
