Job Summary
Coordinate and administer therapeutic IV treatments, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, while monitoring patients for complications and managing adverse reactions. Maintain expertise in inserting and caring for intravenous lines, ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols and vascular access standards. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after infusions, interpret laboratory reports to adjust treatment plans, and perform point-of-care testing for quick clinical decision-making. Document all interventions accurately and provide thorough education to patients and caregivers regarding therapy purposes and self-care measures. Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, utilizing electronic health records and maintaining required certifications within the first year of employment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Oncology Nursing Certification
- Complete ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification within the first year of employment
- Maintain AHA BLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally challenging environment
- Knowledge of chemotherapy drugs, their administration, and potential side effects
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant healthcare technology
- Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills
- Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
