Job Summary
Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, antibiotics, and symptom management while providing patient education and triage. Document professional nursing care using the nursing process and maintain systematic patient evaluation processes. Demonstrate competency in IV therapy, subcutaneous injections, and ONS guidelines for adverse events like extravasations. Communicate effectively with physicians and the multidisciplinary team while adhering to all protocols and policies. Assist healthcare personnel in patient care delivery and participate in maintaining the clinic environment. Willing to cross-train in pharmacy, triage, lab, shots, and scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
- Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent IV skills
- Familiar with VADs
- Willingness to work with research subjects and administer trial medications after an appropriately determined training period
- 2+ years' experience in medical oncology preferred
- Either ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certified or willing to obtain within a year from the start date
