Job Summary

Infusion Pharmacy Technician supports the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of sterile medications for oncology and infusion patients at Simon Cancer Center at University Hospital, working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to deliver safe, timely, and high-quality cancer care. Responsibilities include preparing and compounding hazardous and non-hazardous sterile medications (chemotherapy, biologics, supportive care infusions) in USP <797>/<800> compliant cleanrooms (ISO Class 5/7/8), performing dose calculations, labeling, documentation, maintaining aseptic technique, managing inventory and par levels, assisting with hazardous drug disposal, and ensuring timely delivery of medications to infusion clinics while communicating with pharmacists, nurses, and care teams. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, Indiana Pharmacy Technician license, national certification within 1 year, ability to work in sterile/Hazardous drug environment, and strong attention to detail with a focus on patient safety. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in inpatient/infusion/oncology settings and familiarity with USP <797>/<800> standards. The position is full-time at Simon Cancer Center – University Hospital, Indianapolis, IN, with day shift hours and potential satellite-site coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or NHA) required within 1 year of employment
