Job Summary
Supervise daily workflow of infusion pharmacy operations to ensure efficient, effective, and accurate levels of operation while assuring compliance to established policies, laws, and regulations. Manage safe compounding and storage of sterile hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including narcotics, and oversee training, regulatory compliance, personnel performance assessments, and staff development. Lead medication safety initiatives and adverse drug reaction monitoring, serving as pharmacist in charge (PIC). May staff core shifts as needed to support the operation. Full-time role with 40 weekly hours, days schedule, and variable weekend requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited Pharmacy school or Postgraduate training/education OR Bachelor's degree with advanced clinical training experience or equivalent education/experience OR Master's degree with advanced clinical training experience or equivalent education/experience
- PharmD - Pharmacist OR RPH-Registered Pharmacist
- 5 years recent relevant experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, generic and trade pharmaceutical names, pharmaceutical calculations and laws and regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge of current pharmacological/biopharmaceutical principles, pharmacotherapy, medical terminology, pathologies, disease states, and related information for a medical management plan
- Knowledge of acute and chronic disease and its effects on patients and caregivers
- Able to use professional judgment and clinical expertise in the daily solving of complex problems and in the provision of clinical information within the scope of practice
- Knowledge and understanding of different Pharmacy practice settings, including controlled substance delivery and procedures
- Ability to carry out calculations and execute basic math skills needed for common dosage determination
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment or work processes in a timely, positive and effective manner
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), related pharmaceutical technology, EHR, and EPIC
- Ability to perform basic inventory management duties
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork by willingly accepting responsibilities and performing assignments that support the team
- Demonstrates knowledge of total quality management through its precepts, skillful workplace applications and continuous organizational improvement

- Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
- Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP)
