Infusion Pharmacy QA Technician

Job Summary
Coordinate personnel and compounding room compliance with USP Chapter <797> and <800> standards while performing complex, unique duties within the pharmacy department. Complete routine and as needed environmental sampling of sterile compounding areas, review certifications to ensure compliance, and report failures with documented corrective actions. Educate and train new employees to ensure competency, recertify staff at required intervals, and develop policies and procedures that align with pharmacy workflows. Generate and present reports of tasks to Pharmacy Operations Manager or Director of Pharmacy, maintaining clear documentation of training records, area certifications, and cleaning logs. Work independently and within teams to complete tasks involving prior authorization, order entry, and internal auditing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Washington state pharmacy technician certification
- 2 years pharmacy technician experience
- Maintaining excel sheets
- Familiar with the generic names of drugs along with their basic indication
- Proficient in Microsoft suite
- Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations
- Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge and experience compounding intravenous admixtures
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with large teams
- Attention to detail and accuracy documentation of information
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Experience with electronic medical records
- Knowledge and experience working with hazardous medications
- Knowledge and experience working with investigational drug services
- Experience working with educational training programs such as pharmacy apprenticeships and internships
- Knowledge and experience training new employees
- Demonstrated ability to independently complete projects and improve workflows
- Knowledge and experience finding and interpreting regulatory guidance documents
- Experience training staff on regulations and/or workflows
