Job Summary
Infusion Nurse, Independent Contractor in the Temple/Killeen, TX area provides home infusion care. Responsibilities include assessing patients, performing physical assessments, coordinating with in-house RN staff to implement and revise the plan of care, administering and managing intravenous access devices (CVADs, PICC, peripheral lines), educating patients and families, documenting visits, ensuring infection control, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining supplies. Requires RN licensure, CPR certification, at least one year of nursing experience (preferably in home infusion), and ability to work intermittently with travel as needed. Pediatric infusion experience is preferred. Must coordinate nursing visits and communicate with the in-house RN staff and on-call team. Continuous charting and adherence to physician orders and plan of care are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed and registered as a registered nurse in the States where practicing
- Current CPR certification
- At least one year of experience as a registered nurse, preferably in a home infusion setting
- Experience with infusion access devices (peripheral lines, PICC lines, central venous catheters including implantable ports)
- Flexible with work schedule
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Intermittent visits based on nurse’s availability
