Job Summary
Conduct weekly 1:1 IVIG infusion services for patients in lower Putnam County, performing comprehensive nursing assessments and managing PIV, PICC, and implanted port access. Prepare and administer IV infusion therapy while educating patients and families, ensuring patient safety and monitoring post-infusion follow-up. Collaborate with the infusion manager, coordinators, and medical providers to facilitate seamless care initiation and supervise nursing staff competence during on-site field visits. Utilize paperless clinical documentation via computer and tablet, prioritizing multitasking and time management across 11-hour shifts on Sundays.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a home care infusion company, hospital, clinic, or medical facility
- Infusion experience
- Experience infusing IV/SQIG and biologic medications
- NYS Registered Nursing License and Registration Certificate
- BLS
- Up-to-date medical, inclusive of Physical, TB Clearance/QuantiFERON Gold blood test, 2-step PPD or T-Spot, or Chest X-ray and Habituation Statement
- MMR-Varicella Titers Lab Report or Vaccination Records
- TDAP Vaccine - Hep B Vaccination Series, Titers OR Declination
- Urine Drug Screen (UDS) - within the last 6 months is acceptable
- Flu Vaccination (if applicable) or Declination
- Two (2) forms of government-approved ID to validate employment eligibility
- Two (2) satisfactory professional references
- Malpractice Insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to read and interpret clinical documents, including physicians' orders and treatment plans
- Ability to participate in a multi-disciplinary health care team
- Knowledge of principles & practices of supervision, performance evaluation, and education
- Knowledge of Federal HIPAA Regulations
- Knowledge of standard nursing policies, procedures, methods, and techniques
- Comprehensive nursing assessment skills
- PIV, PICC, Mid & Central line care, and access competence
- Patient safety, monitoring, and post-infusion follow-up
- Communication with patients, families, infusion pharmacy, and medical providers as necessary
- Multitask and prioritize work responsibilities
- Time management skills
- Using a computer and tablet
Desired Qualifications
- Supervisory or managerial experience
- ACLS
- Implanted port access (MediPort, PermaCath, etc.) competence
