Job Summary
Prepare and administer specialized IV and injection therapies, including biologics and CVADs, while performing thorough patient assessments and monitoring client conditions. Review physician's orders to enhance care techniques and provide direction, support, and delegation to Licensed/Registered Practical Nurses. Collaborate with managers to foster a patient-centered environment with maximum 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratios. Requires at least three years of recent acute care experience, strong intravenous skills, and current registration in good standing. Part-time, permanent role in Ottawa Napean & Ottawa East, ON with days and evening shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse
- At least 3 years of recent acute care experience
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current registration in good standing with the provincial licensing body
- Training and experience in the preparation and administration of medications via all routes
- Excellent intravenous skills
- Able to read and interpret technical instructions related to client care
- Strong observational skills to visually and auditorily assess clients
- Training and experience with CVADs
- Background in biologics/infusions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ICU and/or ER
