Job Summary
Install, maintain, and decommission structured cabling systems including copper, fiber, and low voltage technologies within active data center environments. Build and remove racks, cabinets, and pathway systems while interpreting design drawings and manufacturer standards to ensure precise, compliant installations. Follow all safety policies and customer site rules to maintain an accident-free workspace, adhering to industry best practices in quality and craftsmanship. Assist senior technicians with installation, testing, and commissioning to develop hands-on skills in fiber systems, labeling, and routing. Support varied schedules including days, nights, or weekends as required, bringing your own basic tool set for onsite daily work. Complete three weeks of training at our Plano, TX facility as part of the Talent on Tap program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 2–3 years of telecom/structured cabling experience
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to listen carefully and follow instructions
- Solid teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and help others
- Knowledge of safe hand tool use (telecom and construction tools)
- Ability to distinguish color for cable identification
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the day
- Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, and use hands regularly
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 25 lbs frequently
- Ability to work in tight or confined spaces when required
- Ability to work from heights, including ladders or lifts, with proper safety equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and hear instructions in active environments
- Willingness to adapt to shifting project needs
- Support varied schedules including days, nights, or weekends as required
- Must obtain OSHA10 within 90 days
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days
